Juve linked with Maxi Lopez

Juventus will open negotiations for Catania striker Maxi Lopez in a couple of weeks, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Beppe Marotta feels the team’s attack needs reinforcing in the January transfer window, as Vincenzo Iaquinta and Amauri haven’t convinced up front.

Juventus have a good relationship with Catania, which stems from the deal they did for Jorge Martinez earlier this summer.

The basis of any talks for Maxi would apparently be a six-month loan with a view to a permanent transfer in June.

If Juventus can’t tempt Catania into parting with their star striker, Marotta has a list of alternatives to help resolve the team’s goal scoring problems.

La Gazzetta understands Pippo Inzaghi could make a sensational return to Turin, while Tottenham centre-forward Robbie Keane is also being monitored.
