Giorgio Chiellini has insisted that his blossoming Juventus side won’t win anything without consistency.

The Turin giants have had an inconsistent start to the season after mass personnel changes during the summer, but things are improving.

Despite suffering two League defeats in their seven games so far this term, they collected their second 4-0 win of the campaign yesterday by crushing Lecce.

“If we continue to play like that then this Juventus will certainly please boss Gigi Del Neri,” the stopper noted. “We all played well, we collected a big victory and not by chance.

“Now we have an important week ahead with Salzburg in the Europa League and then against Bologna on Sunday.

“We’re looking for continuity which is always difficult for a side like ours which is still being built.

“Consistency represents a step up in quality for us. Yesterday we added substance to the good performances against Manchester City and Inter. Now we must keep going.”

When asked whether Juve, who are now in fifth, can launch a serious Scudetto bid, the Italian international remained cautious.

“The two Milanese clubs are three points ahead of us, but I prefer to remain calm and not get too excited,” he said.

“Highs and lows in the season are not what we need, we need to stay calm and find stability.”
