Juve battle Inter for Afellay

Juventus and Inter will battle it out to sign PSV Eindhoven starlet Ibrahim Afellay, according to Tuttosport.

The 24-year-old midfielder put on a real show in Holland’s clash with Sweden at the Amsterdam Arena on Tuesday night.

“I have to admit, it was my best game,” he said.

Afellay is out of contract in June and represents a low cost option for many of Europe’s biggest clubs.

PSV are trying desperately to get him to renew his deal, but the player’s agent insists his ambition now lies elsewhere.

The Italian Press has already picked up on the fact that Afellay was born in Utrecht, the same town as Marco Van Basten and Wesley Sneijder.

Juventus and Inter face competition from Everton, Atletico Madrid, Hamburg, Arsenal and three other Italian clubs.

Fiorentina, Genoa and Sampdoria are also said to be interested in his signature.
