Fabio Quagliarella “is not a traitor or a hypocrite” for joining Juventus, argues his agent. “Napoli are also responsible.”
The fans protested when their hometown club hero opted to leave the Stadio San Paolo in the final days of the transfer window.
“Everyone has their share of the responsibility in this affair, just as Fabio said recently,” agent Beppe Bozzo told Il Mattino newspaper.
“He takes 30 per cent, the rest goes to the clubs and the Coach. It’s obvious that without everyone’s consent after Juve made the offer, this move could not have gone through.
“We need to see a bit more honesty. Fabio is not a traitor, nor a hypocrite.”
There were reports of a row with Coach Walter Mazzarri, while supporters are furious he opted to quit the side he had always supported since childhood.
“If Quagliarella changed clubs, it is because the directors and manager also agreed, otherwise it could not have happened,” continued Bozzo.
“When Quagliarella first signed for Napoli, he never imagined leaving within a year. He wanted to complete the move straight after the end of the season, missing out on the opportunity to attract offers from the likes of Inter and Juve, or prestigious foreign sides.
“Enough about Napoli now. Life goes on.”
