Claudio Marchisio would reject a move to Inter because he wants to become a talismanic player for Juventus, according to his agent.
This morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter are readying a €15m bid for the 24-year-old Italy international.
However, as expected, Marchisio has no intention of leaving Turin, notwithstanding his ongoing contract negotiations with Juventus.
Speaking to Sky Italia, Marchisio’s agent Carlo Pallavicino said: “I see a straightforward situation. He arrived at Juve nine years ago. He celebrated 15 years in black and white, and would like to realise the dream he had as a boy and become a talisman and a symbol of the team he supports.
“But the moment has come to define the player’s contract situation in the best way possible as he wants to commit to Juventus.
“We are negotiating the contract with the club, which we don’t take for granted, but this player must be tied down for many years, so it’s obvious that we request a little time.
“It’s true that we have been talking about it for two months and it was promised to us by the old directors, but it’s also true that we are dealing with a complicated matter.
“It’s clear that we are dealing with an important player, so there are teams who hope for a hitch.”
