Simone Pepe is flying high after he marked his Juventus debut with a goal against Lyon on Saturday.

“It was a great feeling,” he stated on Monday. “To score on your debut for a club as important as this will help me start this adventure on the right foot.”

The Italian international has arrived from Udinese and he did impress in the friendly win over the French at Cosenza.

“My teammates were a great help,” he added. “I just tried to be at the full disposal of the Coach in order to do what he asked of me.

“This is a good squad and an excellent team. These are ideal bases to start the season well, then we’ll see where we end up.”

Pepe may have grabbed the winner after Alex Del Piero’s penalty, but it was a goal made by Brazilian fantasista Diego.

“He is a great player and we aren’t discovering that fact today,” admitted the former Roma midfielder.

“He has done well in the past for Werder Bremen and in Brazil. It helps to be able to play with so many champions like him.”
