New faces expected at Juve

Juventus’ new director general Beppe Marotta has told the club’s fans that he intends to sign ‘many players’ this summer.

Marotta is arguably the busiest man in Italian football at the moment, planning the complete overhaul of Juventus’ current squad.

He has already signed Simone Pepe from Udinese and looks set to add Jorge Martinez to Juventus’ ranks by the end of the week after agreeing a fee with Catania.

“Right now we are a work-in-progress construction site and a lot has to happen, also with regard to players coming in,” Marotta said.

“It’s not a case of naming names, but several players will arrive. Unfortunately we’ve had to fix our training camp at the start of July because of the preliminary stages of the Europa League and this doesn’t help us because any deal requires time.

“We must integrate new players into the team while making our way forward,” he concluded.
