Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie has admitted that he would like to win the Europa League, after the Bianconeri defeated Fulham 3-1 in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.

For the 33-year-old, Italian football can be proud of the Bianconeri because of how well they are doing in Europe.

“We have a great chance to bring home the trophy,” the Italian international revealed to Tuttosport. “Italian football can be proud of our side in Europe, and how well we want to do.

“If we are able to win the Europa League, it would be a massive triumph. After winning the Serie B, and finishing in third and second place respectively in the league, arriving at the top of Europe would be fantastic. We need to believe in this until the end.

“The team’s aim now is to do well in London, as we are confident. It is not easy playing matches every three days, but we are gaining important players, and this is helping our cause,” he concluded.
