Zac focus on future and Palermo

Alberto Zaccheroni is looking to the future of Juventus and trusts tomorrow’s game with Palermo can point the way.

When he took charge from Ciro Ferrara, the club was in dire straits, but Zac is unbeaten and has climbed back into fourth place.

“I have been here for a month and we made some good progress. I expect to improve more and more with each game,” said the Coach.

“In Italy there are only two types of judgment for a tactician – all good or all bad. They’re inevitably tied to the most recent results. Now we’re doing well and hope to maintain this until the end of the season, but I know my job too well to be swayed by compliments now.”

There are difficult choices for the game with Palermo, which you can watch LIVE on ESPN from 19.45 GMT on Sunday.

Amauri will be out for a month after joining the injury list with Gianluigi Buffon, Martin Caceres, Christian Poulsen, Vincenzo Iaquinta and probably Fabio Grosso.

“Now we have David Trezeguet back to full fitness, so our style will not change. Many of our players suffered relapses of previous injuries, which I think is down to the packed schedule,” argued Zac.

“Palermo are a side to be feared, as they’ve been consistent recently. I don’t know if they are among the most dangerous teams in the chasing pack, but in the next month we’ll face all the clubs fighting for a Champions League spot.

“I don’t want to know about the statistics from before my arrival. I asked my players to wipe the slate clean and only focus on the here and now.

“They have never mentioned anything to me about the past and I’m content that way. I want them to look forward.”
