Amauri will undergo tests later today after the Juventus man limped out of last night’s 0-0 draw with Ajax.
The Brazilian was substituted just 15 minutes into the Europa League tie which the Old Lady won 2-1 on aggregate.
The early indications are that the forward, who scored both goals in the first leg, has pulled a muscle after clutching his right thigh.
Juventus have been reluctant to mention a possible recovery time until they take a closer look at him on Friday.
Amauri is now doubtful for Sunday’s League game against Palermo, the club he left for Turin in 2008.
Despite a disappointing season in front of goal, there were signs that Amauri was flourishing under the guidance of new boss Alberto Zaccheroni.
Amauri, formerly of Chievo, had scored three goals in his last three games before Thursday’s European clash kicked off.
David Trezeguet is now likely to start at the weekend after he replaced the big Brazilian last night, as Vincenzo Iaquinta is still injured.
