Gianluigi Buffon insists the Europa League is important to Juventus, but “three consecutive wins have always been the norm.”

The Bianconeri seemed to end their crisis by beating Genoa, Ajax and Bologna, putting them back in Serie A’s fourth place.

The second leg of their European tie is on Thursday, a match you can watch LIVE on ITV4.

“We are going through our best moment since the start of 2010,” wrote Buffon on his personal website.

“However, for Juventus three consecutive wins have always been the norm and not the exception.

“Now we must work hard to make sure that is the case for the rest of the season, which is still long and can give us a lot to celebrate in Italy and in Europe.”

Juve welcome the Dutch maestros to Turin and have a 2-1 away result to set them in good stead for qualification.

“On Thursday the second leg against Ajax will be tough and we’ll try to put it under lock and key after last week’s fine victory in Amsterdam.

“We are all very concentrated on this game and are counting on the fans to fill the Olimpico and support us, just as they did against Genoa.

“It is an important appointment so that we can achieve qualification and continue in a tournament that means a lot to us.

“It is also valuable to maintain the growth of our self-belief ahead of a series of crucial head-to-head fixtures against Palermo, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Napoli.

“Those results could give us a major boost in the final sprint for the Champions League places.”
