Alberto Zaccheroni feels Ajax and the Europa League atmosphere can help Juventus “rediscover the winning mentality.”
The Bianconeri registered their first win, 3-2 over Genoa, under the new Coach at the weekend and you can watch them play in Amsterdam from 18.00 GMT Thursday.

“The Europa League certainly affects the team in terms of fitness and effort, but it also helps us to win in the long run,” insisted Zac.

“We need to rediscover the winning mentality and taking on great opponents like Ajax can help us in that. However, we mustn’t expect miracles and remember to take it one step at a time.

“Ajax have their own style of football that goes all the way down to the youth academy. It is a real school of football and I have great respect for this club.

“They are unbeaten in 17 games, have the best attack and second best defence in the Dutch League and excellent individual talents.”

Juve need a morale booster, as it was crashing out of the Champions League before Christmas that precipitated their current crisis.

“We have to string together a series of positive results and grow by playing football, not just in training sessions.

“We are trying to understand what went missing and where we have to improve. We’ve got to accelerate that process now.

“I have great confidence for two reasons: the quality of the squad and the concentration they have shown me. The players listen and on the field do what I ask of them, but now I must do well to maintain that over time.”
