Juventus boss Alberto Zaccheroni is breathing a sigh of relief, as Felipe Melo should be back in time for this weekend’s match against Livorno.
The 26-year-old Brazilian, voted the worst signing of the season, arguably gave his best performance in a Juventus shirt against Lazio on Sunday before pulling up with a muscle problem.
Initially, it looked as if Melo had seriously damaged his thigh, but subsequent tests revealed the injury wasn’t as bad as first thought.
Tuttosport understands Melo is far from 100 per cent fit and will work in the gym today and tomorrow, but he is determined to be ready in time for Saturday.
Melo has quickly become crucial to Zaccheroni’s plans as Momo Sissoko is suspended while Claudio Marchisio and Hasan Salihamidzic are struggling with injuries and should be back in time to face Genoa on Valentines Day.
