The newly-appointed coach’s first game ends in a draw…

New Juventus coach Alberto Zaccheroni can see that he has a lot of work ahead of him, if his team are going to climb the ladder and challenge for the Scudetto.

The Bianconeri were held to a 1-1 draw with Lazio, despite creating more of the play and seeking to score, according to the new boss.

“We played a better match than our opponents, seeking for the win, but lacked a few things to be able to do so,” the former Milan tactician stated to Datasport post-match.

“In the first half-hour, the side utilised the wings very little, and it is difficult to get forward with the ball only at one’s feet. When we tried, we it went too far.

“We have excellent elements in our side, but we need to improve in the midfield, as 90 per cent of all matches are won in the centre of the park. Whoever domintes, wins.

“I believe in this team, and all of the sides that I have coached have always finished the season off well. I hope for the same to happen here.

“As for my appointment? I have been asked to work until June, and then we shall see. Should a coach that is better than me arrive, good for the team,” concluded Zaccheroni.
