Chiellini tough on Juventus

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini says there are no excuses for losing 3-0 at home, especially against rivals Milan.

The defeat effectively knocks Juventus out of the title race and puts Ciro Ferrara’s job in serious jeopardy.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Chiellini said: “It was an undoing, you cannot lose 3-0 a home. We made all three goals ourselves.

“The blame is ours, mine above all. We should examine our consciences. Juventus cannot be like this. I don’t believe that I will sleep easily tonight.

“Now we have to be realistic. It’s too important to finish in the top three. There are objectives. We cannot be without motivation six months from the end of the season.

“We all have to give more and turn this situation around. It’s everyone’s fault, it’s wrong for all the blame to fall on the Coach.”

Asked about the fans’ protests before, during and after the game, Chiellini said: “We are used to certain pressures. It’s normal that they protest. Obviously it would be better if they supported us for 90 minutes.

“It’s like this in Italy. But it’s up to us to do our part,” he concluded.
